Madras HC order puts AICF’s Raja under check

Chennai, Oct 3 (IANS) In a major setback for P.R.Venketrama Raja, President All India Chess Federation (AICF) and his faction, the Madras High Court has clarified the electoral college that existed in February this year is no more valid, said an advocate of the rival faction.

Chennai, Feb 10 (IANS) Passed pawns, tongue twisters like ”zugzwang” and ”zwischenzug” and walkover were some of the chess terms used by chess players at the position after the rejection of the nominations filed by 23 persons including that of All India Chess Federation (AICF) President P.R.Venketrama Raja and others for AICF elections.

Chennai, Feb 18 (IANS) The Madras High Court on Tuesday set aside the election of five office bearers of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) and asked the Returning Officer to convene a Special General Body Meeting to conduct fresh elections.
